Project TITLE: Competitive entrepreneurs – sustainable and inclusive employment in the economic sector of the North-East region

The project “Competitive entrepreneurs – sustainable and inclusive employment in the economic sector of the North-East region” will be implemented over a period of 12 months (18.05.2018 – 17.05.2019), being co-financed from the European Social Fund through the Human Capital Operational Programme 2014 – 2020, Priority Axis 3: Accessible workplaces, Call code: POCU / 227/3/8/ Increasing the number of employees benefiting from new tools, methods, practices, etc., human resources management and improved working conditions in order to adapt the activity to the dynamics of competitive economic sectors identified according to SNC / intelligence specialization fields according to SNCDI.

THE TOTAL PROJECT VALUE is 2,658,819.07 lei.

THE LOCATION of project development:

The project will be developed in Iasi, but the activities address managers, entrepreneurs and people from human resources departments from companies activating in 6 economy sectors with competitive potential (tourism and eco-tourism, textiles and leather goods, wood and furniture, creative industries, processing food and beverages, health and pharmaceutical products) from the North-East Region (Bacau, Botosani, Iasi, Neamt, Suceava, Vaslui counties).

 

THE GOAL of the project:

To ensure the capacity building of 505 managers, entrepreneurs and people from the human resources departments for sustainable and inclusive employment in economic, potentially competitive sectors, as well as to increase the results of suppliers from 6 potentially competitive sectors, correlated with the fields for smart specialization in the  North-East Region (tourism and eco-tourism, textiles and leather goods, wood and furniture, creative industries, processing food and beverages, health and pharmaceutical products).

 

The main project ACTIVITIES and RESULTS:

 Activity 1. Organizing and developing employee awareness campaigns in 6 economic fields – tourism and eco-tourism, textiles and leather goods, wood and furniture, creative industries, processing food and beverages, health and pharmaceutical products – from the North – East region with respect to the importance and need for attending training sessions.

 

Results:

  • 1 website promoting the project / the campaign promoting the professional capacity building programmes;
  • Online banners posted on the platform of 6 sites of the applicant redirecting users to the page for the campaign and to the calendar of training activities;
  • Newsletter with information about the project activities;
  • 10 short films presenting the activities (with testimonials from trainers and beneficiaries);
  • Radio, television and written interviews regarding the importance of the capacity building programmes;
  • Brochure presenting the training offer and the training calendar – 4.000 copies.

 

Activity 2. Organizing and developing professional capacity building programs addressing 335 people ensuring the strategic management of companies and entrepreneurs from the 6 economic sectors – tourism and eco-tourism, textiles and leather goods, wood and furniture, creative industries, processing food and beverages, health and pharmaceutical products from the North – East region.

Results:

  • 7 capacity building trainings certified by the National Authority for Certification in the fields “Entrepreneurial abilities” (2 trainings), “Project manager” (2 trainings), “Product manager” (1 training), “Innovation manager” (1 training), “Manager of a social enterprise” (1 training) accessed and taken by 175 managers and entrepreneurs;
  • 7 informal trainings – 2 mini-MBA trainings, 1 training in project management –  PMP (project management professional, PMI approach), 1 intensive training in Excel use, 1 workshop on the topic “Conflict management”, 1 workshop on the topic “Communication management”, 1 session on the topic “Equal chances and sustainable development”, accessed and taken by 160 managers and entrepreneurs;
  • 1 best practices guidelines on equal chances and sustainable development – chances for employment for people from groups at risk, especially people with disabilities, addressing companies with over 50 employees – 300 copies.

 

Activity 3. Organizing and developing capacity building training for 170 people from the human resources departments from 6 potentially competitive sectors, correlated with the fields for smart specialization – tourism and eco-tourism, textiles and leather goods, wood and furniture, creative industries, processing food and beverages, health and pharmaceutical products from the North-East region.

Results:

  • 4 capacity building training certified by the National Authority for Certification in the fields ”Human resources manager” (1 training), ”Human resources inspector” (2 pieces of training) and ”Entrepreneurial abilities” (1 training), accessed and taken by 80 people from human resources departments;
  • 4 informal pieces of training – 1 workshop on the topic ”Motivation of employees”, 1 workshop on the topic ”Innovative methods for organizing work, including in view of the professional reintegration of people from groups at risk”, 2 workshops ”Methods of organizing teambuilding events, both indoor and outdoor”;
  • The brochure on the topic ”Techniques and methods for motivating employees” written for people from human resources departments from companies, edited, printed and distributed in 100 copies.

 

Activity 4. Granting support for enterprises from 6 potentially competitive economic sectors from the North-East Region in view of elaborating a long-term strategic planning or in revising/adapting the planning, in case it already exists

Results:

  • 5 people ensuring the strategic management from 5 different companies from potentially competitive economic sectors from the North-East region, will each benefit of 10 hours of individual counselling / “coach manager” activities through different means (face to face, Skype or phone calls);
  • 5 long-term strategic plans drawn or revised for 5 enterprises/companies from the potentially competitive sectors in the North-East region, as a result of counselling sessions, the management coaching offered through the project.
  • 3 sessions for facilitating organizational performances in view of developing abilities to interact, collaborate and make partnerships between the leaders of organizations/companies and the members of different departments from within these companies within 3 different enterprises/companies from potentially competitive economic sectors from the North-East region;
  • Sessions for mediation on the labour market for companies/enterprises with respect to the integration on the labour market of people from groups at risk, including people with disabilities, having in view the legislative framework of the Governmental Ordinance no. 60/2017;
  • 200 consultancy hours offered to enterprises benefiting of the project, which will directly contribute to increasing their adaptability to employ people from groups at risk and the integration in their internal policies of the principle of social integration.

 

Organizing and developing professional capacity training and offering personalized assistance to people from the project target group will lead to:

  • Increasing the adaptability of the workforce and of enterprises;
  • Economic growth and perspectives for the development of enterprises according to the development of human resources;
  • Elaborating on annual and long-term strategies to increase economic competitiveness;
  • Ensuring further opportunities for future involvement on a modern, flexible and inclusive labour market;
  • Development within smaller companies of strategies for the growth of human resources from the perspective of their economic growth;
  • Raised awareness of employers with respect to the correlation between the continuous development of their employees and the increase in the quality of rendered products/services.
