It report identified three target groups: enablers, supporters and workers with support needs(WSN).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who are the people working in the Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISEs)?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Enablers &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>CEOs, CHROs, CFOs, staff managers, area coordinators, project managers, and ICT specialists; <\/li><li><strong>Supporters<\/strong> &#8211; include professionals, like job coaches, tutors, and mentors, who help WSNs in carrying out their work tasks;<\/li><li><strong>Workers with support needs (WSNs)<\/strong> &#8211; people with physical and\/or sensory disabilities; people with intellectual and\/or learning disabilities; people with psycho-social disabilities and\/or mental illnesses; people with substance use disorders; convicts and ex-convicts; people in long-term unemployment; homeless people; asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants; NEETs; women survivors of violence; members of ethnic minorities and people with low qualification.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the main findings related to skills gap in WISEs?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Mapping the skills needed to perform the jobs and fill the skills gaps in the WISE sector and anticipate the sector\u2019s future needs <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u203a from <strong>409 face-to-face intervie<\/strong>w (of which 89 enablers, 145 supporters and 169 WSNs).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Most important skills for Enablers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>most of the skills that emerged as the most relevant are traced back to management skills;<\/li><li>4 most important management skills: developing o<strong>bjectives and strategies<\/strong> for WISEs, <strong>organizing and scheduling<\/strong> work activities, <strong>leading and motivating<\/strong> staff and stakeholders, and <strong>making decisions;<\/strong> <\/li><li>enablers of the recently established WISEs consider the skills for building a team to be highly relevant, while the enablers of the more structured WISEs prioritized skills related to the development of organizational strategies and decision making. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mce_58\">Most important skills for Supporters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>teaching and training workers with support need;<\/li><li>monitoring the development of WSNs;<\/li><li>management skills are viewed as highly important by 59.3% of the supporters;<\/li><li>a mix of hard and soft skills is required, the balance of which also varies according to the specific role assumed by a supporter within an organization. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Most important skills for Workers with support needs (WSNs)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>skills that allow for the carrying out of their work autonomously and help them to meet the objectives and deadlines set by their organizations;<\/li><li>2 most relevant skills: <strong>handling and moving <\/strong>(perceived as highly important by 42% of respondents) and  working with machinery and specialised equipment  (27.8% consider this skill as highly important).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Causes to skills gap<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>No. 1 reason for skills gap is<strong> lack of economic resources preventing them to upgrade their skills.<\/strong><\/li><li>Labour shortages of workers with the needed job profile and lack of time to learn new things emerged as important key issues.<\/li><li>The <strong>least relevant<\/strong> reason is <strong>lack of motivation.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The report highlighted that workers are, on the one hand, willing to fill their skills gaps but, on the other hand, some of them find it <strong>difficult to attend training courses with success<\/strong>.  WSNs may be not motivated to address their own skills gaps because <strong>educational\/training activities are not considered adequate. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The impact of skills gap. How supporters and enablers perceive the effects of skills gap?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Top 3 effects for enablers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Higher operating costs challenging economic sustainability  (78.6%)<\/li><li>Other effects (51.7%)<\/li><li>Limited capacity to assist current or additional workers with support needs in their work integration processes (20%)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Top 3 effects for supporters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Other effects (33.7%)<\/li><li>Limited capacity to assist current or additional workers with support needs in their work integration processes (32.6%)<\/li><li>Increase workload for other staff (31.5%<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solutions to the skills gap<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p> When it comes to addressing skill gaps, <strong>training is considered the top priority,<\/strong> while hiring new staff or reorganizing internal processes are less preferred options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the <strong>lack of financial resources can hinder the implementation of these strategies,<\/strong> despite their importance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interesting findings related to trainings <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>WSNs normally prefer face-to-face training and teamwork to address their own skill gaps.<\/li><li>84.3% of enablers claim to support training activities.<\/li><li>The majority of enablers indicated reliance mainly on WISEs\u2019 own funds.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Top 3 barriers preventing WISEs from organizing or supporting training according to enablers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lack of time to organize\/involve staff in training;<\/li><li>Lack of funds;<\/li><li>Lack of tailored training opportunities fully matching the WISE skills gaps.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Discover the <strong>full report on EU-27 Work Integration Social Enterprise sector<\/strong>.\u00a0You will learn\u00a0more\u00a0about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u203a Key features of WISEs, including the distinctive models of integration they have developed.<br>\u203a The mix of resources WISEs rely upon.<br>\u203a The context of emergence and the patterns of evolution of WISEs in three groups of countries: Central and Eastern Europe (i.e., Bulgaria, Croatia, Latvia, Poland, Romania and Slovenia), Southern Europe (i.e., Greece, Italy and Spain) and Western Europe (i.e., Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and the\u00a0Netherlands).<br>\u203a State of play of technology and digitisation in WISEs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Download the report here:<\/strong> <strong> <\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bwiseproject.eu\/Portals\/bewise\/OpenContent\/Files\/1130\/RP_WP2_Report_2301_CB.pdf\">Report on understanding user (digital) skill needs in WISEs\u00a0<\/a>was published in December 2022 and it was prepared by the European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Economy (<a href=\"https:\/\/euricse.eu\/en\/publications\/report-on-trends-and-challenges-for-work-integration-social-enterprises-wises-in-europe-current-situation-of-skills-gaps-especially-in-the-digital-area\/\">EURICSE<\/a>).
