About the project:
The BASE project aims at setting up an alliance for Sectoral Cooperation on Skills for the Social Economy and proximity ecosystem, to facilitate knowledge exchange between universities, VET and social economy actors, contributing to the growth of the ecosystem.
The project will address skills mismatches and provide new skills in terms of occupational profiles in the SE sector and will design and deliver four competence-based curricula for upskilling social economy practitioners.
Objectives:
- To identify the skills needs for building relevant training and curricula and implementing new vocational education content and pedagogical methodologies, across the sector
- To identify, develop and promote upskilling schemes, training tools, to establish a more diverse workforce
- To establish a European Alliance to share processes, knowledge and practices and secure political support for mobilizing policy makers and key stakeholders at the EU and national level through involvement of a broad range of stakeholders: social economy enterprises, educational institutions, training providers, research institutions, social partners and social economy experts
- The socio-economic regeneration of the territories by boosting local economies and bringing social innovation to tackle the societal challenges of local communities
Activities:
- Research on social economy skills gaps;
- Creation of "SocioComp"- Social Economy Competence Framework and establishment of an Occupational Profile for the Social Economy Practitioner
- The creation/use of the BASE-Watch as an innovative tool for skills anticipation in the SE sector
- Design of baseline curricula for upskilling Social Economy Practitioners
- Creation of MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) Platform which will provide interactive courses
- Policy recommendations to strengthen social economy VET training provision
